At least 19 individuals have been killed and 32 others have been injured when a gas tanker caught hearth in a tunnel north of the Afghan capital of Kabul, a neighborhood official stated Sunday.
The Salang Tunnel – situated between Parwan and Baghlan provinces – is round 1.66 miles (2.67 kilometers) lengthy and was constructed within the Sixties. It is an important hyperlink between the nation’s north and south.
A spokesman for Parwan province, Hekmatullah Shameem, stated the gas tanker caught hearth within the Salang Tunnel on Saturday evening.
