A sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed late Friday afternoon within the Southern California metropolis of Lake Elsinore, authorities stated. A suspect is in custody.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported that the deputy, recognized as Darnell Calhoun, was transported to a hospital in severe situation. Calhoun later died of his wounds, the sheriff’s division tweeted Friday evening.
