(WXYZ) — Two brothers from Pontiac who have been wrongfully imprisoned for 25 years are submitting a $125 million lawsuit.
George and Melvin DeJesus have been launched from jail on March 22, 2022 after they have been wrongfully convicted within the 1995 rape and homicide of Margaret Midkiff within the City of Pontiac.
“This is the best day of my life. We are extremely happy and overwhelmed. It’s been a long time coming and it took a lot of help and people.” George stated again in March.
Investigators stated the 2 brothers have been tied to a Pontiac killing of a lady in July 1995 after she was discovered bare and tied up in her basement. A crew of investigators says one other man, Brandon Gohagen, confessed to a sexual assault associated to the homicide, then reduce a deal guilty the killing on the brothers.
