INDIANAPOLIS — An Elkhart lady stated this Thanksgiving she is grateful for therefore many issues, two years after a transplant saved her life. Sharon Culbreath’s gratitude is what’s pushing her to get extra individuals to develop into organ donors.
“Our patients end up becoming our friends and family because we’ve known them for so long,” Dr. Sunit-Preet Chaudhry, Ascension St. Vincent Advance Heart Failure and Transplant Physician, stated. He is Culbreath’s heart specialist.
The transplant journey formally started in October 2020. On the 20th of that month, Culbreath received a brand new coronary heart.
“I’m a miracle standing here today,” Culbreath stated.
At 49, Culbreath was advised she wanted a transplant. For practically 20 years, she battled congestive coronary heart failure.
