The FBI Atlanta discipline workplace is providing a $10,000 reward for data concerning a vandalism incident that came about at Georgia’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church Heritage Sanctuary this summer season, the company mentioned in a news launch Thursday.
The church’s sanctuary was vandalized within the late hours of July 3, when a bunch spray painted the next message on the aspect of the church: “if abortions arent safe neither are you.”
The vandalism got here simply days after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which had assured the federal, constitutional proper to an abortion.
Surveillance video seems to point out a bunch of 10 people wearing all black strolling away from the church. The group walked to a hid space, then re-emerged in surveillance footage with out the black clothes, the FBI mentioned.

Ebenezer Baptist Church, its sanctuary and the house of Martin Luther King Jr. are all a part of the nationwide historic park positioned in Atlanta.
The church – separate from the sanctuary – was based in 1886 and is a “spiritual home” to the state of Georgia, in keeping with the National Park Service. It served as Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s house church from 1960 till his dying in 1968. Today, Democratic US Sen. Raphael Warnock serves as its senior pastor, in keeping with the church’s web site.
