BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown introduced a metropolis worker was struck and killed throughout the snow removing operation in South Buffalo Wednesday.
Buffalo police stated the incident occurred on McKinley Parkway round 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to Mayor Brown, the worker was an skilled member of town workforce and household with many years on the job.
“We are heartbroken, we are in pain right now having suffered this loss,” Brown stated.
The mayor continued on to say the worker won’t be recognized immediately as notifications are nonetheless being made to members of the family.
“Our hearts, our thoughts, our prayers go out to the family members of our lost coworker,” Brown stated.
According to BPD Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia, it seems a excessive loader truck was dumping a load of snow in a dump truck and fatally struck the worker whereas in reverse. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
According to Mayor Brown, the automobile that struck the worker was a third-party contractor automobile that was retained by town to help with snow removing.
The metropolis is suspending additional snow removing operations for 48 hours as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.
