A soldier who was shot and killed at Fort Stewart in Georgia on Monday has been recognized as Sgt. Nathan M. Hillman.
Hillman, 30, was a chemical, organic, radiological and nuclear specialist who had joined the Army in February 2015, the Fort Stewart Public Affairs Office mentioned in a press release. In July 2021, Hillman was assigned to the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, third Infantry Division, also called the Spartan Brigade, which is predicated out of Fort Stewart.
Monday’s taking pictures befell contained in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team complicated on the army base, which is situated close to town of Hinesville. Law enforcement arrived on scene simply after 10 a.m. native time. A suspect was taken into custody, however their identification has not but been launched. Hillman’s dwelling of report, the general public affairs workplace mentioned, was Plum, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh. He had had one deployment to Afghanistan, and had been awarded two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, and the Air Assault Badge.
