Nashville authorities are investigating a drive-by capturing after a funeral service at a church Saturday that left two individuals wounded, police stated.
As the funeral service was letting out on the New Season Church round 1:40 p.m., at the least one particular person drove by and opened hearth on the attendees as they exited the entrance door, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department stated in a launch.
Some attendees had been armed and returned hearth towards the automotive, police stated.
An 18-year-old girl was shot within the leg and a 25-year-old man was shot within the pelvis, police stated, noting the injuries usually are not life-threatening.
The service was being held for a 19-year-old girl who was murdered earlier this month, police stated. The casket had not been introduced out of the church on the time of the capturing, and the burial befell later within the afternoon, the discharge stated.
Investigators imagine the capturing might have been “the result of a beef between two factions of people,” in line with police, although an official motive has not been launched.
Police are asking the general public for data on a black Honda Civic they stated was concerned within the drive-by capturing.
