The US navy and Syrian Democratic Forces carried out a helicopter raid in jap Syria early Saturday, capturing an ISIS official, in keeping with an announcement from US Central Command.
Batar, “an ISIS Syria Province Official involved in planning attacks on SDF-guarded detention centers and manufacturing improvised explosive devices,” was captured within the raid, CENTCOM stated in the assertion.
The US didn’t present any extra data or proof concerning its claims about Batar.
No civilians, SDF or US forces have been killed or injured within the raid, in keeping with CENTCOM.
The growth comes on the heels of an earlier helicopter raid in Syria on Thursday evening that the US navy stated killed Hamza al-Homsi, a senior ISIS chief, in addition to wounded 4 US troops and a working canine.
Officials informed Act Daily News that US forces have been “close to” al-Homsi when an explosion occurred, killing al-Homsi and wounding the US service members. It is unclear at this level if the explosion was the results of a suicide vest, a booby lure or one thing else, two officers stated.
Separately, US Central Command stated in an announcement Saturday night that two rockets had landed close to a coalition base in northeast Syria.
No US or coalition troops have been injured and no harm to tools or infrastructure occurred throughout the rocket assault that focused Green Village, a coalition base in northeast Syria.
US forces are investigating the incident.
