Food supply service DoorDash Inc stated on Wednesday it was slicing about 1,250 jobs in a bid to cut back prices within the face of a worldwide financial slowdown.
The firm joins an inventory of multinational American corporations which have laid off staff in latest weeks as a consequence of rising working prices amid decades-high inflation.
“We were not as rigorous as we should have been in managing our team growth … That’s on me. As a result, operating expenses grew quickly,” stated Chief Executive Tony Xu in a message to staff posted on the corporate’s web site.
As of Dec. 31, 2021, the corporate had greater than 8,600 staff worldwide.
