China’s Huawei says it earned patent revenues of $560 million last year

Chinese tech big Huawei Technologies acquired $560 million in royalty revenues in 2022, Alan Fan, its head of mental property (IP), mentioned on Thursday in a speech at firm headquarters within the metropolis of Shenzhen.

Huawei earned greater than it paid out in royalties over the past two years because the decline in handset gross sales meant it wanted to pay much less to different IP holders, Fan mentioned.

The firm has entered into patent licenses with telephone makers Samsung and Oppo and automakers together with Audi, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Porsche, Subaru, Lamborghini and Bentley, Huawei mentioned.
