Apple CEO Tim Cook met with China’s minister of commerce, Wang Wentao, on Monday to debate industrial and provide chain stabilization, in response to a press release from the Ministry of Commerce.
“The two sides exchanged views on issues such as Apple’s development in China and the stabilization of the industrial and supply chains,” the assertion from China’s Ministry of Commerce learn.
Apple declined to touch upon Cook’s actions in mainland China, the place he was considered one of a handful of high American executives to attend the weekend’s China Development Forum.
Cook and Wentao’s assembly comes after months of lockdowns and Covid restrictions in China. Images and movies of staff fleeing from lockdown restrictions at Foxconn’s main iPhone plant in China went viral on social media late final 12 months.
Communist Party officers have made it clear that it is a high precedence to reassure company leaders and assuage their considerations about manufacturing and dependable output in China.
