Former U.S. Open champion Sam Stosur on Saturday stated she’s going to retire from the game following this month’s Australian Open, 21 years after her first look at Melbourne Park.
Ahead of final yr’s Australian Open, the 38-year-old stated that she would focus solely on doubles.
Stosur beat Serena Williams within the U.S. Open remaining in 2011 and was a runner-up within the French Open a yr earlier. She has loved better success whereas partnering with different gamers, successful 4 Grand Slams in ladies’s doubles and three in blended doubles.

Stosur will play within the ladies’s doubles on the January 16-29 Australian Open alongside France’s Alize Cornet, in addition to the blended doubles with compatriot Matthew Ebden.
