The Wests Tigers were hit with an untimely injury during Saturday afternoon’s Round 10 clash against the Knights in Tamworth.
In the 13th minute, centre Starford To’a pulled up with a hamstring complaint while sprinting through for a try-scoring opportunity near the right wing. It’s entirely feasible he would have scored the opening try of the match if not for the injury.
To’a hobbled off alongside a team medic, with the Tigers scoring a couple of minutes later to take the lead.
Fox Sports reporter Lara Pitt later confirmed the 23-year-old would take no further part in the game.

CLEARY’S ‘DEVASTATING’ HAMSTRING BLOW
The Panthers — and New South Wales — have copped a serious blow with superstar halfback Nathan Cleary re-injuring his hamstring on Friday night.
Cleary suffered the injury in the final minutes of the first half at BlueBet Stadium after putting in a grubber.
He signalled to the trainer before walking himself from the field and up the tunnel with two minutes left before the break.
Fox League’s Lara Pitt confirmed that it was the same hamstring Cleary injured in Round 3 and that he would not return to the game.
“Devastating news,” Pitt said.
“We do know it was the hamstring he was returning from.
“He is devastated, he’s iced up and he’s no good.”
Pitt later added that Cleary is “looking at a lengthy stint on the sideline.”
Cleary will be sent for scans on Saturday morning to determine the severity of the injury, with coach and father Ivan not ruling out the Panthers travelling overseas for treatment.
“Nothing’s off limits because we want to get the bottom of it and hopefully it’s not happening again,” he said.
“We’ll certainly leave no stone unturned.”
In a further blow for the Panthers, back-up half Brad Schneider injured his leg in the NSW Cup game on Friday afternoon.
Depending on the scan results, Blues coach Michael Maguire may have to rethink his halves pairing. He’s already facing the prospect of losing Tom Trbojevic for the entire Origin series, which kicks off on Wednesday, June 5.
LUCKLESS TURBO’S CRUEL BLOW
Tom Trbojevic will miss the first two Origin games after Manly confirmed on Friday night that the superstar fullback will miss seven weeks with a hamstring injury.
With State of Origin kicking off on June 5, Trbojevic will miss the first two games and will return two weeks before the final game.
The Sea Eagles were sweating on the fitness of two star players following Thursday evening’s game against the Dolphins in Brisbane.
In the 67th minute of the match, Trbojevic suffered the hamstring injury while attempting to prevent a try from Dolphins winger Jack Bostock. The NSW Blues representative, who also copped an ankle knock earlier in the game, gingerly walked off after colliding with a camera operator during the incident.
“As Tom Trbojevic just walked past, I saw the two trainers mimic the word ‘hammy’ as he walked past,” Parker explained.
“It’s awful news for the Manly Sea Eagles, but also with Origin only a couple of weeks away.”
Earlier in the game, Jason Saab picked up a shoulder injury. In a promising update, the club confirmed the towering winger will miss “a couple of weeks.”
BRONCOS’ SPINE COPS ANOTHER HIT
Billy Walters has joined Adam Reynolds in the Broncos’ casualty ward after failing to finish Friday’s game due to a wrist injury.
Walters reportedly carried the injury into the game and aggravated it early in a tackle on Reagan Campbell-Gillard.
He tried to push through it but eventually left the field and did not return.
