Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has unloaded on the Rugby League Players Assosciation (RLPA), claiming they’re utilizing the gamers.
Stuart’s feedback come within the wake of negotiations for a brand new collective bargaining settlement between the NRL and the RLPA hitting fever pitch when a participant boycott on media was introduced.
From Thursday July 6 all NRL gamers have been instructed to refuse to participate in all TV, radio, print and digital interviews till the conclusion of spherical 19.

The boycott will even embrace subsequent week’s State of Origin Game III.
Speaking to reporters in Canberra, Stuart believes the boycott hurts the sport.
“Yes it does (hurt the game). It’s not the (media’s) fault that there can’t be an agreement,” Stuart mentioned.
“I feel sorry for the players because I believe that if you spoke to 95% of the players they wouldn’t even know why they aren’t allowed to talk to the media.
“I think they are being used and it’s wrong because there are young boys who have no idea why it’s there and I think they are being used in this regard. Our administration will get to the core of it and hopefully fix it.”

Despite the RLPA’s seemingly agency stance on the matter till a deal – which doesn’t really feel shut – is completed, Stuart is assured within the powerbrokers at NRL HQ.
“I think we have very strong leadership. They know what’s right for the game and they should be running the game not the players,” Stuart mentioned.
The media boycott is more likely to have an effect on a minimum of Round 19 and subsequent week’s State of Origin III.
That has the potential to create a clumsy and unthinkable dilemma.
“State of Origin next week, the game will be over, someone will kick a winning field goal and we aren’t going to hear a single word from the player. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out,” Braith Anasta mentioned on Wednesday’s episode of NRL 360.
