When Joe Ofahengaue and Kieran Foran clashed early within the second half of the Tigers and Titans’ recreation on Sunday, it appeared like there could have been a little bit of historical past between the pair.
It seems that’s the case, with Ofahengaue this week revealing that the pair “always” find yourself having “little run-ins” on the sphere, beginning all the way in which again in 2018.
Speaking on ‘Behind The Roar’, the membership’s official podcast, Ofahengaue opened up on that incident on the weekend and his lengthy historical past with Foran, relationship again to once they have been enjoying for the Broncos and Bulldogs respectively.

“I think it started back in 2018,” the Tigers ahead mentioned.
“It was Broncs versus the Bulldogs, a tight game, Jimmy the Jet skipped across the field [and] hit me on a short ball, I scored under the sticks and he [Foran] just happened to be there. “Because I was so hyped up that I scored to get us in front, I push him and it starts from there.”
The rivalry, as Ofahengaue defined, didn’t cease there.

“The next time I play him was when I first came here to the Tigers,” Ofahengaue mentioned.
“We had a little run-in, we were playing at CommBank stadium. We had words to say again and it kind of escalated to this one. We just always have little run-ins.”
Ofahengaue although mentioned he doesn’t assume it’s “anything personal from both sides” and even defended Foran’s actions in Sunday’s recreation, which ended up gifting the Tigers discipline place.
“This one I can defend him, I thought he was coming in to grabs my legs and got worried he was coming to get my legs,” Ofahengaue mentioned.
“I grabbed him by the jersey and that’s what kind of set him off. He thought I was having a crack at him, came in with a swinging arm which upset me. It’s nothing serious.
“To his defence, he was angry because I grabbed his shirt and then he came in with the forearm and that hit my eye and I was very upset about that.”

Ofahengaue mentioned he went to apologise to Foran on the try-line after teammate Adam Doueihi scored off the following set.
“He didn’t want a piece of me,” Ofahengaue mentioned.
The two groups are scheduled to subsequent face off in June on the Gold Coast, though Ofahengaue isn’t going to go into that recreation in search of a combat.
“I’m a lover not a fighter,” he laughed.
“I love you Kieran. He’s one of the GOATs of the game.”
