What the previous Warriors playmaker is certain of is that he’s not having fun with the sport.
Instead, he’ll flip his consideration to what most inquisitive youths do – backpacking and writing.
Harris-Tavita revealed he got here to the choice after getting injured throughout a heavy loss to the Storm in Round 7.
“For the past couple of years I just haven’t felt that love for the game, I’ve woken up on many training days and asked myself – is this really what I want to do,” Harris-Tavita mentioned.
“It was hard for me to make this decision because you can get a lot of money in this game and you have a short career, so that was one of the toughest parts.
“But after I’d ruptured my testicle, I spent a bit of time by myself contemplating my next move and (whether to) sign my next contract, and the decision I made was the best for me moving forward.
“I thought I had two options: re-sign with the Warriors or sign with a different club, but the more time I spent with myself that third option became a lot clearer and I backed myself.
“I don’t regret it at all. I’m still young, I back myself to keep my standards high in whatever I’m going to do next and I’m excited for it.”

Whilst there’s no remorse, Harris-Tavita admits he’ll be unhappy to go away his World Cup teammates following their fairytale run to the ultimate.
“There’s a bit of sadness about it, I’ve really enjoyed not just playing in the NRL but this camp here to finish, or maybe finish, my career,” he mentioned.
“We’ve got a great bunch of boys and I’ve had a lot of fun in this camp and it’s obviously good when you’re winning as well, which I’m not really used to.
“It’s hard when you’re having this much fun and playing in such a good team but it’s a decision I’m content with and I’m enjoying the last of it.
“From the start I’ve said I’m taking a break and if I feel a deep desire to come back to the game and feel like I can do more for the game, then I’ll come back. But if I find something else I like doing then I’ll do that.
“I’ve got no plan at the moment, that’s why I was hoping we’d win (the semi-final) so I’d have seven more days to prep for what’s after footy.
“Some travel, for sure.”
Samoa are battling an damage disaster and Harris-Tavita is anticipated to begin at hooker towards the Kangaroos at Old Trafford.
