“Went down and spoke to Sheens and I thought this was the best choice for me, I felt wanted, he wanted me to be a big part of the team.
“I didn’t want to let him down, he gave me an opportunity and I was that stoked, I wanted to make sure I had a good pre-season and repay them for giving me the opportunity.”
During his last yr in Newcastle, Klemmer earned the membership’s Player of the Year award after a turbulent back-end of the season.

“I’m 29, some people think I might be done, but I still feel like an 18-year-old kid, I love coming to training and I thought Sheens and Benji and that will be the best for me to keep progressing as a footy player.”
Klemmer additionally opened up on his reunion with Sheens after the skilled coach picked him for the his Kangaroos debut in 2014.
“Sheens is a footy coach, fundamentals over the flashy plays and everything like that,”
“He knows the ins and outs of footy and I am a massive footy nerd, so I just sit there like a little kid and just listen.
“To team up with him again, I know he’s a little bit old school but I don’t mind it.
“Then you have got Benji, Farah and Furner, who are the modern day coaches and it is a good mixture.
“I just love him as a coach.”
