Broncos legend Steve Renouf has thrown his help behind Payne Haas, declaring the famous person prop is properly inside his rights to check his worth on the open market.

“It just shows what a negotiation can do to a brand of a player.
“Payne has settled back in to some really good footy and I don’t think it will upset (the Broncos). They just need to get it sorted as soon as possible.”
The contract extension tabled to Haas would make him the membership’s highest-ever paid participant, eclipsing the million {dollars} a season handed to Anthony Milford.

“The club has always been there for him, I don’t know if he wants to pick up the pieces and start at a new club.

“You also want to be at a club that is winning, and guess what? Brisbane are winning at the moment. I expect him to stay, but I hope I don’t put the mockers on it.”
