A soccer agent appeared in a London courtroom on Wednesday charged with sending a threatening e-mail to a former director at Premier League membership Chelsea FC.
Saif Rubie is alleged to have despatched an e-mail to Marina Granovskaia on May 22 with the intent to trigger misery or anxiousness in relation to the switch of French defender Kurt Zouma from Chelsea to West Ham.
The 44-year-old, from west London, didn’t enter a plea to at least one depend underneath the Malicious Communications Act at a quick listening to at Southwark Crown Court.
His lawyer Warwick Aleeson mentioned the case concerned “effectively a contractual dispute” between Rubie and Granovskaia over the “transfer of a player to the value in excess of 30 million euros and the commission owed to this defendant”.
Rubie – whose identify appeared on courtroom lists as Saif Alrubie – was launched on bail forward of an additional listening to in April 2023.
