A United States journalist, specifically Grant Wahl, died after struggling a cardiac arrest throughout the additional time of the quarterfinal between the Netherlands and Argentina on the Lusail Stadium, confirmed the U.S. Soccer.
The paramedic workers on the stadium tried to resuscitate him for half an hour earlier than taking him out on a stretcher.
Wahl, 48, had been overlaying the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar as an unbiased journalist for his Substack weblog “Futbol with Grant Wahl.” Prior to that, he labored with CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated.
He was reportedly unconscious in his press field seat throughout additional time at Lusail Stadium.

Wahl’s spouse Celine Gounder stated she was in “complete shock” on Twitter.
Ned Price, U.S. State Department spokesperson, tweeted his workplace was in communication with senior Qatari officers “to see to it that his family’s wishes are fulfilled as expeditiously as possible.”
