Twenty-two individuals have been arrested for throwing objects and setting off fireworks following Ajax Amsterdam’s 2-1 Dutch Cup semifinal win at Feyenoord on Wednesday, nationwide broadcaster NOS reported on Thursday.
Ajax’s Davy Klaassen suffered a head damage when he was hit by an object thrown from the stands, inflicting a prolonged delay as gamers from each groups walked off the pitch.
The match began 5 minutes late attributable to smoke from fireworks lit by Feyenoord supporters. It needed to be stopped 21 seconds after kickoff to permit the heavy black smoke to clear.
