DHAKA (Bangladesh): Star allrounder Shakib Al Hasan is offered for Bangladesh‘s three-match one-day worldwide sequence in opposition to touring India beginning subsequent week.
Shakib missed the final sequence in opposition to Zimbabwe in August and Bangladesh went on to lose the Twenty20 and ODI sequence.
Before the Zimbabwe sequence, Shakib was instrumental in Bangladesh’s first victory in opposition to South Africa in South Africa with a 64-ball 77. Bangladesh later sealed its first ODI sequence triumph on South African soil by 2-1.
“Shakib’s return to the squad will further bolster our ODI squad,” chief selector Minhajul Abedin stated on Thursday.
“India is a very strong side but we are hopeful of our chance because we’ll be playing at home. This squad can challenge India.”
This will likely be India’s first bilateral sequence in Bangladesh since 2015, when the house aspect gained 2-1. The groups will observe with two assessments.
The three ODIs are slated for Dec. 4, 7 and 10. The first Test is from Dec. 14-18 and the second from Dec. 22-26.
