Shubman Gill and Shivam Mavi have been handed their T20I debuts for India towards Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Tuesday.
India is simply the second group, after Australia, to offer one hundredth cap within the shortest format.
Both Gill and Mavi play for Gujarat Titans within the Indian Premier League, with the latter being bought for Rs. 6 crore in December 2022’s mini public sale.
While Gill has already performed for India in Tests and ODIs, this will likely be Mavi’s first outing for India.
Gill has scored 1900 runs within the IPL at a mean of 32.2 and a strike charge of 125.5. Mavi has picked 30 wickets in 32 matches within the event at an economic system of 8.71.
Sri Lanka gained the toss and elected to bowl first.
