Former India cricketer Ajit Agarkar was elected because the chairman of males’s choice committee, the BCCI introduced on Tuesday.
“The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), consisting of Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape, interviewed applicants for the position of one selector in the Men’s Selection Committee. The three-member CAC has unanimously recommended Ajit Agarkar for the said position,” the BCCI stated in a press release.
Agarkar joins Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sridharan Sharath within the senior group’s choice panel. Prior to this position, Agarkar has served because the selector for the senior Mumbai group.
The all-rounder featured in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and 4 T20Is, along with enjoying 110 first-class, 270 List A, and 62 T20 matches.
