Trails of sunshine from satellites appeared on twice as many images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope in 2021 in comparison with 2002. Although the undesirable gentle streaks haven’t but interfered with Hubble’s scientific operations, they might achieve this in future – notably because the variety of communications satellites launched is rising.
