Drew Barrymore will not be getting any Christmas items for her children this 12 months — or any 12 months, for that matter. But she has a reasonably good cause for not doing so.
As chances are you’ll know, Drew has two kids together with her ex-husband, Will Kopelman: 10-year-old daughter Olive and 8-year-old daughter Frankie.
She mentioned that as a substitute of giving them materials gadgets, she likes to present them experiences to create extra lasting recollections.
“I always take them on a trip every Christmas. I don’t get them presents, which I think at their ages they don’t love, but I say, ‘I think we’ll remember the place and the photos and the experience and that’s what I want to give you,'” she informed Entertainment Tonight.
“And they get plenty of things throughout the year,” she continued, “so I’m not like some weird, strict, cold mom who’s like, ‘You don’t get any gifts!’ I just feel like a better gift would be a life memory. I’d rather invest [in that than in] a doll house or something. It all evens out and it’s fine.”
Drew shared that she final gave her daughters Christmas items in the course of the pandemic, since they have been unable to go wherever because of journey restrictions. She mentioned the expertise made her understand how a lot gift-giving “sucks” and the way experiences are higher since her daughters do not ever “complain about not liking what they get.”
“I’m glad I do what I do,” she added.
