It is a sequel to the hit movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which launched in theatres in 2001. In the movie, Sunny Deol performed the function of Tara Singh, a truck driver, whereas Ameesha Patel performed Sakeena. The movie was set through the partition of India in 1947.
