Akash Thosar believes no actor has ever bought the quantity of affection and stardom that he recieved for his debut film Sairat. He isn’t bluffing. The film created historical past not simply in Marathi cinema however throughout, and made Thosar an in a single day star. “I have got so much love for that film, I have never seen anyone get so much love for their debut. I’ve come out for promotions after almost 3-4 years and the craze is still there. Not everyone is lucky to get this,” he admits.
It’s this love that Thosar fears to lose, which is why in his six -year-long profession he has been selective along with his initiatives. “I didn’t want to do something that will make people lose their love for me. I didn’t want to sign 10 films just because I was getting the love and money. If I do a flop film people will think, ‘Oh, he was a one film wonder’. I come from a middle class family. My dreams were getting a government job, taking care of my parents and settling down. So now that I’ve got this chance, I don’t want to take it lightly. I want to do justice to it,” he explains.
The 29-year-old admits that until date he will get roles just like Parshya, the character he performed in Nagraj Manjule’s directorial. However, along with his subsequent – Ghar Banduk Biryani– he hopes that adjustments. “I was getting quite similar roles. And for me to say no is very difficult. But I would politely ask them that I don’t want to do a role like this. Most of the times it was my manager. With every project I do consult Nagraj ji,” he states. Ironically, Thosar doesn’t even remorse saying no to films, regardless of them coming from a giant banner. “Most of the times, after watching the movie, I realised that it is good that I didn’t do it,” he mentions. But issues are altering for the Lust Story actor, who reveals that he’s doing his “dream role” subsequent in a pan-India challenge.
Another factor that he doesn’t take severely are the destructive feedback. “I don’t take it to my heart. You say whatever you want, I’ll stay the way I am,” he quips.
While Thosar is a heartthrob for a lot of women, he says he’s single. “Koi mil hi nahi rahi,” he quips, including, “I am quite an introvert and shy guy, I cannot express much. Before Sairat, I’ve not even spoken to a girl. Abhi bhi himmat nahi padti! I’m so focused at my work that maybe that’s the reason I have not found love yet.”
