The Federal Communications Commission issued a key authorization to Elon Musk’s SpaceX on Thursday, granting approval for the corporate to maneuver ahead with launching as much as 7,500 next-generation satellites in its Starlink web community.
“Our action will allow SpaceX to begin deployment of Gen 2 Starlink,” the FCC wrote within the order.
The FCC didn’t grant SpaceX’s full utility, which included deployment of almost 30,000 satellites in low Earth orbit, and it positioned some situations on the corporate’s plan to deploy the satellites. It deferred determination on the appliance to launch the complete quantity.
