Australia off-spinner Ashleigh Gardner grew to become the second girl to select up eight wickets in a Test innings through the Women’s Ashes Test in opposition to England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Monday.
Gardner recorded figures of eight for 66 within the fourth innings as Australia earned an 89-run win within the one-off Test, defending a 267-run whole.

Gardner adopted India’s Neetu David who registered figures of eight for 53 in opposition to England in Jamshedpur in 1995. Gadrner’s total match figures of 12 for 165, following a four-wicket haul within the earlier innings, is the second-best amongst all girls in Test cricket.
