On the day he was dropped from the Indian squad for the upcoming West Indies tour, Pujara had already began to arrange for the Duleep Trophy, and tweeted a video of his follow session at his personal floor in Rajkot on Saturday, a day later.
“He is mentally very strong. I can’t comment about the selection. But from what I have seen, he is batting at his best. In fact he was working hard in the nets the same day post the WI team announcement. He has started preparing for the Duleep Trophy and will continue playing on the county circuit. As a father and coach, there is no reason for me to believe why he can’t come back,” Arvind advised TOI.
A veteran of 102 Tests, Pujara had made a comeback after scoring closely for Sussex in County cricket within the 2022 season, however this time, issues look a bit harder contemplating the clamour for phasing out a few of India’s senior batsmen and giving children an opportunity.
Indian batting legend opener Sunil Gavaskar has been important of the choice to drop Pujara.
