Thin materials that block mosquito bites have been developed by experimenting with patterns made by knitting machines.
John Beckmann at Auburn University in Alabama got down to create bite-proof clothes after clothes he purchased for a canoeing journey failed to guard him. “I got eaten alive,” he says.
Any clothes thicker than the size of a mosquito’s proboscis will stop bites, Beckmann says, however this clothes isn’t appropriate for heat climes the place mosquitoes often thrive.
