The movie courted controversy after the trailer was out. After the movie’s launch Theatre and Multiplex Owners Association in Tamil Nadu blocked screenings within the state as “a precautionary measure” to take care of regulation and order. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee ordered a ban on the screening of the movie to keep away from “any incident of hatred and violence”.
