The variety of species of Galapagos big tortoises that exist is in dispute and the consequence might affect how we preserve these endangered animals.
Researchers have outlined 16 populations of big tortoises (Chelonoidis spp.) unfold throughout the Galapagos islands based mostly on variations of their shell form, behaviour and genetics.
