The league is scheduled to be launched this July and the workforce – Seattle Orcas – has been named after killer whale Orca that’s discovered within the ocean round Seattle.

The Seattle Orcas’ lead investor group contains Nadella (Chairman & CEO of Microsoft), Soma Somasegar (Managing Director of Madrona Ventures), Samir Bodas (Co-founder and CEO, Icertis), Ashok Krishnamurthi (Managing Partner, GreatPoint Ventures) and Sanjay Parthasarathy (former senior govt at Microsoft and Avalara).
