An uncommon form of water wave can repeatedly toss a water droplet into the air 1000’s of instances with out breaking it.

For the previous decade, Nicolas Mujica on the University of Chile and his collaborators have been finding out how wave patterns emerge on the floor of water when it’s shaken or in any other case disturbed. Recently, they made the unintended discovery that, below the correct situations, a wave can bounce a droplet of water up and down 1000’s of instances in a row.
