A Palestinian man was shot and killed by an Israeli settler within the West Bank on Saturday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated, naming him as Mithqal Suleiman Abdel Halim Rayan, 27.
The ministry stated he was shot within the head in Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit, within the north of the occupied West Bank.
Witnesses instructed the official Palestinian news company WAFA that settlers had attacked a bunch of Palestinians, opening fireplace at them. They stated Rayan was critically injured and died quickly after.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates blamed the killing on “terrorist settler militias.”
An area settler chief stated that the settler who shot Rayan had “acted appropriately.”
“He defended his life from a mob of rioting and rampaging terrorists,” stated Yossi Dagan, the top of the Shomron Regional Council, which represents Jewish settlers within the space.
The killing befell on land which Israel captured from Jordan in 1967. International legislation considers it unlawful for Israeli settlers to reside there.
Dagan stated: “We will continue to build and flourish the wilderness in our country in Jerusalem, in Tel Aviv, in the Negev, in the Galilee, and in Judea and Samaria,” the Biblical names for the West Bank.
