The Dallas Zoo enclosure of a clouded leopard who went lacking Friday — and was later discovered — was “intentionally” reduce, police say, and they’re investigating whether or not a monkey enclosure on the zoo was additionally tampered with as properly.
The clouded leopard, named Nova, bought out of her enclosure Friday morning, forcing the zoo to shut and prompting an hours-long search. She was safely secured close to her habitat early Friday night, the zoo mentioned.
Dallas police instructed CBS News in a press release Saturday night that investigators decided a “cutting tool” was used to chop a gap within the fencing of Nova’s habitat. Harrison Edell, Dallas Zoo’s government vice chairman for animal care and conservation, instructed reporters Friday that zoologists discovered a tear within the mesh of her two-story habitat, in keeping with CBS DFW.
Zoo personnel later found a “similar cut” within the fencing of an enclosure which homes langur monkeys, police mentioned. None of the monkeys bought out, nevertheless, and all appeared unhurt.

The zoo reported Saturday that Nova appeared unharmed and has returned to her habitat along with her sister Luna.
