Manchester United ahead Marcus Rashford was left on the bench for Saturday’s Premier League match at Wolverhampton Wanderers because of disciplinary causes, supervisor Erik ten Hag stated.
Rashford has rediscovered his kind this season underneath new boss Ten Hag and got here off the bench to attain the winner as United beat Wolves at Molineux.
When requested why Rashford was lacking, Ten Hag advised BT Sport: “internal disciplinary. No details. Our rules. Now focus on the game. Alejandro Garnacho is coming in.”
Rashford embraced Ten Hag after the match and admitted his mistake, smiling when requested why he had been neglected.
“I was a little bit late for a meeting,” he stated. “I overslept a bit. It can happen.
“Disappointed not to play, but I understand the decision. I’m happy we managed to win the game. I think we can draw a line under it and move on.”
The victory, United’s third league success in a row, moved it into the highest 4, above Tottenham Hotspur, which performs Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
